New York City Emergency Management (NYCEM) has issued a travel advisory for Thursday, August 27, 2026, due to expected periods of rain and thunderstorms.
The National Weather Service (NWS) forecasts showers and thunderstorms beginning late Thursday morning and continuing through the evening, with the highest risk between 11 a.m.

Localized flash flooding is possible, particularly in low-lying and poor-drainage areas. Thunderstorms may produce damaging wind gusts and small hail, with an isolated stronger storm capable of gusts up to 65 mph. The overall severe weather risk is low, but conditions can change rapidly.
